Hi, I'm Denisa and I have written bios of all our employees. Why? Because our Oak Factory Family is the one thing that makes us stand out in the world of furniture stores. Time and time again, I have been told that the one reason customers have bought from us is our people!
My husband and I strongly believe in treating people, especially our employees, with respect and love. And we believe life is too short to not enjoy your job. We have a fun time when we are at work! I think as you read about our extended family, you will see why Oak Factory is a place to check out!
Meet Don...
Don has been around a long time...16 plus years!! He started out delivering and hung around long enough to be our right hand man! Don is a great salesperson if you are lucky enough to get him...he is usually putting out any fires going on! It is Don that enables the Cooper family to get out of town and take a break!
Don loves playing Madden...and that is only when it is raining outside. If it is nice he is on his bike...motorcycle that is. Being our "second son," he drives us crazy not wearing a helmet. He is a wonderful dad to a perfect little girl, Shayla and loves catching movies with is wife Tasha.
What makes Oak Factory different from other stores? He replied, "Definitely the staff (does that mean Mike &I?? haha) and the atmosphere...we do have fun here!"
Meet Susie...
Susie has been with Oak Factory since 2010! Married to Malcolm, she has 2 sons and 5 grandkids. Susie loves to cook, needlepoint, travel and swim! We can also vouch that she has eaten at every restaurant from here to Louisville! If you need advice on where to dine, she is the one to ask!!
What makes Oak Factory different from other stores? "We don't follow you around! We get high rankings for customer service. You can tell we like our jobs and like helping people find that perfect piece of furniture!"
Meet Mike...
Mike is the "main man!" or so we let him think so!! Our beloved owner opened Oak Factory and can be found doing anything and everything...even when we don't want the help! If you hear singing, it is usually Mike.
Mike loves to read(he is a walking encyclopedia), golf, travel and loves to smoke...meat, that is. He has a huge smoker here and has smoked chickens, turkeys and ribs for many events. He loves the Bible and teaches apologetics (how to defend your faith) to 5th graders at Church of the Savior.
What makes Oak Factory different from other stores? "It has to be me!! I love to talk about anything!
Meet Denisa...
My job is so fun... I take care of the store moves (that means on one day a week, the guys and I are moving things around!) I am a stickler for making sure it is decorated and portrays a room you might like to have in your home. I handle all the advertising, which means I write those TV ads you see! I also do all the scheduling for our people and your deliveries. I love buying the furniture we bring in. And I love our people... who have become family.
I love to travel with my family and my girlfriends! Reading is a must and I am a bargain shopper who will always let you know that I am wearing a "skirt that retailed for $58 but I got it for $3.00!!" My favorite room in my house is my screen porch where you will find me at 5:30 every morning with my coffee and the Lord!
What makes Oak Factory different from other stores? I am told that this is just a fun place to be. You can shop at your leisure and we are there to answer any questions. We are very non-pressuring... our quality and low prices speak for themselves.
Meet Gene...
Gene has been selling furniture for around 6 years. His favorite thing about working here is the flexibility of when he needs off work because Gene is always out doing things and he loves that the store's primary emphasis is on God! In his free time he loves to cook, see movies, and hangout with his friends.
Gene has a Culinary Degree from Sullivan and is finishing up his junior year at UK majoring in theatre.
Meet Samantha...
Otherwise known as the "Oak Factory Kid" even though she starts UK this fall! She has been doing the family commercials with her brother, Gene, for 16 years now. Samantha loves to clean...YES, I did say clean! and she loves movies, shopping, going to the gym and traveling. She is great at decorating and likes to do that at the store. Being a millennium, Samantha will work with you while using her laptop to look up things for you!
